Vendor Managed Inventory
* Vendor Managed Inventory has become a preferred way of doing business for a lot of our customers. Even though VMI can take a lot of different forms, the base premise is the same; Mid-State as the wholesaler manages the customer’s inventory and replenishment. Anticipated usages are agreed upon by Mid-State and the customer. Mid-State stocking levels are adjusted to accommodate the anticipated demand. A weekly or bi-weekly inventory is completed by Mid-State personnel. Orders are derived from these scheduled inventories and are approved by the customer. Upon approval, our representative “calls” in the order. The customer realizes increase service and fewer stock outs.
